About a month before the Accessibility (Bar) Camp Seattle to be held in June this year, we are having a PreEvent Potluck, to which you are invited. As you know, Accessibility Camp Seattle is dedicated to the simple premise that “digital inclusion” is fundamental to our age. A “Bar” camp (or Un-Conference) is different from a standard conference in that a conference has a set agenda with speakers at the front of the room and attendees listening from the audience. But a Bar camp is participant-driven where the information flows both ways. Our agenda is set by you, the attendees.
Last year many attendees weren’t aware that we were composing what was to happen in the sessions early Saturday morning and that everybody was supposed to participate. Later we heard complaints that voices were not heard and interests were not represented. Consequently this year we are expanding that process to an entire pre-event potluck lunch. Please come prepared to help scope out actual sessions … what do you want to talk about? … what technology do you need? … what technology can we improve? … what can you not access? … what needs to be changed? … how can we change it? This is your chance to make sure there is a session for your pet project, or to step forward to moderate a session yourself. Even if you just plan on attending and want to have a voice in shaping the conference, this pre-event is for you … not to mention that there will be good eats and lots of camaraderie.

Hey, what should I bring? Caprese? Or do people want to try my chicken/straw mushroom soup?
I am tentatively planning to attend the potluck/planning gathering. I won’t get there until about 1:30, and this assumes I can find the place. I’m from Everett and don’t run around that area too often. What food do you want people to bring?
russell Buddy is the one to go on sunday
We’re excited for Accessibility Camp this June! We are talking to our friends at LiveScribe this week to see if they will send a representative or support the effort!
